Doing vs. Being – Amit Goswami – at the Prison Yoga Practice

amit goswami hey yoga man prison yoga practiceAmit Goswami, the Quantum Activist has wonderful things to say to explain how consciousness is the ground of all being.  This Quantum Physicist talks about how consciousness chooses between the all of the possibilities and then causes the “collapse” of the possibilities into an event.  He then goes on to ask the question: Which consciousness is it that is doing the choosing?  Obviously, if you and I are both headed toward a traffic light from different directions at right angles to each other, we can both choose a green light but only one direction will be green at a time, unless the light is broken.

So which consciousness chooses?  Amit Goswami further develops this line of inquiry by presenting experiments that demonstrate “non-local consciousness.”  This is physicist talk for God, Supreme Consciousness, Brahma, Parama Purusa, Authentic Nature, Buddha Nature and many other names that have been used.

Then he goes on to explain that when we are doing, we are in the ego.  When we are just being, we are aligned with non-local consciousness.  He then recommends that we “be” more.  Just to be sure you know what he means, meditation and mindfulness are ways to “be.”  Not only that, we connect with others through non-local consciousness.

Yoga and meditation  hold the keys to aligning with non-local consciousness.  They also  hold the promise of affecting morphogenetic fields that affect all of humanity and produce a transformation and evolution of human experience!  Here is the doctor’s prescription:

“It is not just do do do.  It is not just be be be.  It is do be do be do.”   – Amit Goswami (perhaps channelling Bing Crosby?)

Doing or being, hmm… seems pretty vague.

Try this. Look for a self. Look for a you. Whatever you think “I” points to, look for that.

It won’t be there, because it was never there.

Check it out, it’s pretty cool.
